Chairman, Japan Securities Depository Center, Inc.
Yoshinobu Takeuchi became Chairman of Japan Securities Depository Center, Inc. (JASDEC) in 2011, after serving as President & CEO from 2002. Under his leadership, JASDEC has worked positively to reinforce corporate governance and to promote wider use of DVP as a means of minimizing principal risk. JASDEC has also expanded the range of eligible securities accepted and completed the dematerialization of stocks in 2009.
He began his career with the Ministry of Finance in 1964. In 1993 he became Member of the Policy Board, Bank of Japan, as the representative of the Ministry of Finance, and in the following year he became Secretary-General of the Executive Bureau, Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission. In 1996 he served as Vice-Minister of the National Land Agency, followed by a position as Deputy President, The Shoko Chukin Bank from 1997-2000. From 2000-2002, he was President of Japan Securities Depository Center, a foundation and the predecessor of JASDEC, Inc.
Yoshinobu Takeuchi has served as ACG (Asia Pacific CSD Group) Executive Committee Chairman since 2010, and as Vice-Chair of the board of the World Forum of CSDs (WFC) since 2011. He was born in 1942 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan and graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Tokyo.
